About Me

My name's Ellis Lane, I am a sports journalist and blogger. This year I graduated from Reading University with a 2.1 in History.

I have always had a huge interest in sport, whether it be playing, watching or simply just talking about it. This is partnered with my love of media and writing, which makes sports journalism such an interesting area for me.

My first steps into the world of media were on a work experience week at a local radio station. It was an experience that I absolutely loved and I still have an involvement in radio today.

The first time I set 'pen to paper' on a sports piece was in Reading University for Spark*, the University newspaper. I have since written for The Abergavenny Chronicle and Reading Post. My work is primarily sports based but I have written on other subjects for these papers also.

Since I began sports writing I have had many opportunities as a journalist, including going to matches and interviewing the players. One interview I am particularly proud of is the interview with Nigel Owens, Welsh international rugby referee.

This blog showcases what I would like to do at a professional level, both match reports and opinion pieces.

If you would like to get in touch then you can email me at ellis.lane@hotmail.co.uk or tweet me.
